1963/64.
In 1964, the Mathematics Unit was

in 1981. Currently, there are four units in the Institute.
The academic staff of the Institute
of Mathematics not only conduct scientific research, but also lecture
in teacher-development courses; they undertake committee work in
vocational specialisations concerning mathematics and computer studies.
The main areas of research:

theory of univalent functions; stochastic independence; differential
geometry; instruments for users of Petri's net and problems of blockade
in concurrent systems; usage of computers in methodology and research;

schools as well as at a tertiary level.
The Institute co-operates
internationally with: the State Pedagogical University, St.
